NextEra Energy Resources and Westar Energy accounced the commissioning of the Kingman and Ninnescah Wind Energy Centers in Kansas.
The two sites in Kingman and Pratt Counties generate a combined 400 MW from 240 GE wind turbines. Power from the centers is sold to Westar Energy, Midwest Energy and the cities of McPherson, Chanute, Iola, Fredonia and Sabetha.
Kingman and Ninnescah were developed for $650 million.
