The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016, pending approval.
Utah Red Hills will be Macquarie’s third acquisition of solar projects from Scatec following Scatec’s decision to exit US solar development. Previously, Macquarie bought two solar facilities in Hawaii totaling seven MW.
Macquarie remains invested in gas as well, as the company partnered with Siemens Financial Services to build the 940-MW Lordstown Energy Center combined-cycle gas turbine project in Ohio earlier this year.
