Westinghouse will supply nuclear reactor pumps for Finnish nuclear plants

Westinghouse Electric Co. received a 40 million euros ($53.6 million) contract from TVO to deliver 12 advanced nuclear reactor internal pumps for the Olkiluoto units 1 and 2 in Finland.

Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB will manage the overall project, along with installation and commissioning. The company will partner with KSB Aktiengesellschaft for the manufacturing and testing of the pumps and valves, and a full-scale test that will be completed by Toshiba Corp. in Japan. The agreement will also allow for possible future power uprates.

Installation and testing of the pumps are scheduled for the 2016, 2017 and 2018 maintenance outages.
