Mineral Resource Technologies LLC (MRT) and Michigan Technological University have finalized an agreement permitting MRT to commercially offer an advanced carbon removal technology process for coal fly ash.

Northern States Power Co. (NSP) has selected Minnesota Agri-Power Project to supply 75 MW of Ofarm-grown closed-loop biomassO generation to the NSP system by Dec. 31, 2000. The project is being developed by Polsky Energy Corp. and Minnesota Valley Alfalfa Producers. The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded a $4 million grant for the planning and design phase of the project.

CSW International Inc. and Alpek, S.A. de C.V. have reached a joint venture to build, own and operate a 120 MW, gas-fired cogeneration project at Alpek?s petrochemical complex in Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The project, called Enertek, will cost approximately $75 million.
