Areva’s mill begins processing uranium ore from Cigar Lake mine

Areva’s McClean Lake mill in Saskatchewan began processing uranium ore from the Cigar Lake mine.

The McClean Lake Mill is expected to produce up to 1 million pounds of uranium this year. It is the only facility in the world designed to process high-grade uranium ore without dilution. The mill will process 18 million pounds of uranium per year beginning in 2018 once the Cigar Lake mine has reached full capacity.
