InterGen names Lightfoot as new CEO

InterGen named longtime E.ON executive Jim Lightfoot as its new president and CEO.

Lightfoot will take the position on June 26, one day after current CEO Timothy Menzie steps down.

The company owns and operates more than 3,000 MW of electric generating capacity in the UK and Australia. InterGen’s latest project is a 300-MW open cycle gas turbine station in the UK due to go into commercial operation this summer.

Lightfoot has 30 years of experience in the energy industrial. He has spent the majority of his career working for E.On, most recently as managing director of their UK cities business.

InterGen is jointly owned by the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and China Huaneng Group/Guangdong Energy Group Co.
