Ansaldo Energia will supply the first H-class GT36 gas turbine for the Minhang Power Plant in China, the Italian company announced this week.
The contract for supplying the GT36 to the 800-MW combined-cycle is worth about 60 million Euros ($68.8 U.S.), according to Ansaldo. The end customer for the project is Shanghai Electric Power Co., which is controlled by State Power Investment Co., one of China’s largest generation utilities.
Overall, Ansaldo has contracts to supply about 30 gas turbines in China. The value of those deals is close to 400 million Euros ($459 million).
The GT36 large-class turbines have an output of between 369 to nearly 540 MW and efficiency rating at 42, according to the Ansaldo website.
