A $950 million electricity generation plant to be built near the recently opened Lordstown Energy Center in Ohio looks more likely after project planners ended a lawsuit.
Various news reports indicated that plans for the Trumbull Energy Center are going forward. Clean Energy LLC, a group involved in putting the Trumbull deal together, gained the property last week in a settlement.
The Trumbull Center would be close to the 940-MW Lordstown gas-fired facility which opened four months ago. Clean Energy Future also developed that project dating back to 2016.
Project planners still need to raise the funds for the Trumbull project. In addition to the investors, Siemens Financial Services would own a portion of the power plant, according to reports. Clean Energy Future also would hold a stake.
