Alstom contracted for an 850 MW plant in Germany

28 September 2005 – Alstom will build an 850 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant in Germany after it was awarded a two-phase turnkey contract from the German utility RWE Power AG.

The company will firstly carry out engineering at the site in Lingen and if RWE decide to proceed with the project the second part of the contract will come into effect. The second phase covers supply and erection of the plant as well as a twelve-year service agreement for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

The plant would use two of Alstom’s GT26 gas turbines in a multishift arrangement with heat recovery steam generators, steam turbine, gas cooled electrical generators and a natural draft cooling tower.
