Entergy COO Paul Hinnenkamp joins football legend Archie Manning as the POWERGEN keynote speakers announced. Manning will anchor the Tuesday, Nov. 19 opening keynote, while Hinnenkamp will be front and center on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Clarion Energy’s Teresa Hansen, vice president of global content, for a webcast Wednesday will be making some important announcements regarding this year’s event in New Orleans. Hansen also will offer key details on content, the exhibit floor and resources available to attendees.
The New Orleans Saints legend will kick off the POWERGEN keynote on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
POWERGEN International Week truly begins Monday, Nov. 18 with POWERGEN University. This year’s set of three, four and eight-hour PGU classes include detail educations on crucial power generation topics such as effective project management, gas turbine long-term service agreements, safety processes, digitalization, business plans for emerging markets, microgrids, cogeneration, machine learning, boiler technologies, building the generation fleet of the future and the consideration of natural gas vs. diesel for on-site power gen-sets.
The utility, which serves 2.9 million customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas, will play a central role at POWERGEN, the power generation event which attracts more than 15,000 attendees and close to 900 exhibitors annually.
POWERGEN also is renewing its focus on the end user of all these technologies both new and fundamental-the utilities. Among the experts speaking at the conference will include engineers and other specialists from AES, Duke Energy, Southern Co., Southern California Edison, Evergy, Exelon, Salt River Project, Public Service Co. of Oklahoma and WE Energies.
The tagline for this year’s EGSA pavillon is “Reciprocating Engines for a Reliable Microgrid.”
Earle Pfefferkorn, president of CleaverBrooks Package Boiler, talked combined heat and power markets and the company’s legacy in packaged boilers.
