A subsidiary of Siemens opened its new innovation center devoted on pairing design and new technologies to help advance the energy sector.
The Siemens and Materials Solutions’ new Innovation was opened in Orlando. It will pair design with manufacturing, robotics, rapid prototyping, scanning, digital tools and on-site metal additive manufacturing.
The outcome of these interactions will support Siemens’ energy businesses, but also provide services to external customers.

additive that Materials Solutions brings, provides us with a distinctive
capability to support the development of holistic additive solutions/services
to our customers in our energy business, as well as in high-performance
industries such as aerospace, automotive and others.”
The 17,000 sq. ft. center is equipped with the latest manufacturing and inspection technologies enabling faster solutions for industry opportunities, and encouraging innovation for the creation of new, advanced components and digital solutions, the company said. The center will encourage the fostering of new ideas, methodologies and business models and boasts the latest automation tools such as robotic machines, 3D printer, and 3D scanners.
Siemens acquired Materials Solutions in 2016. Originally based in the UK, Materials Solutions opened the Orlando center planning to expand its reach within the U.S. energy and aerospace sectors.
