Teresa Hansen, vice president of global content for Clarion Energy, caught up with Earle Pfefferkorn, president of CleaverBrooks Package Boiler, when the Milwaukee-based manufacturer exhibited at POWERGEN in Orlando.
Pfefferkorn talked about combined heat and power markets and the company’s legacy in packaged boilers. CleaverBrooks was started by John Cleaver’s fascination with steam power and designing boilers in the 1920s and ‘30s. Cleaver struggled early, but then combined talents with entrepreneur Raymond Brooks who could offer sales and marketing expertise.
The rest is history. The company now has thousands of employees and manfacturing or warehouse locations throughout the U.S. and in China, Canada and Mexico.
