MHPS inks licensing deal for H-25 gas turbines in China

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems will license production technology for its H-25 series gas turbines to a Chinese manufacturer.

MHPS announced the deal with CSIC Longjiang GH Gas Turbine Co. (GHGT) on Thursday. The licensing agreement will establish a nimble local supply chain and help expand MHPS’ share in the Chinese market, the Japan-based company said in its release.

China is increasingly strength its environmental regulations and promoting the use of natural gas over coal for industrial parks’ co-generation systems. Five orders for H-25 Series gas turbines, nine units in total, have been received in China so far.

The H-25 series was launched in 1987, and MHPS has supplied more than 180 units globally.
