The gas turbine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) market is expected to grow an average 3.6 percent per year and reach $17.3 billion by 2023, according to a new market report by Lucintel.
The major drivers for gas turbine MRO growth are aging fleets of gas turbines and tighter regulatory standards on power plant emissions, Lucintel says.
Among the major players in this sector are General Electric, Siemens, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Sulzer and Wood Group. Most of these are exhibitors at the upcoming POWER-GEN International conference and exhibition happening December 4-6 at the Orange County Convention Center, West Hall, in Orlando.
GE Power is going to be at Booth 911, Siemens at 2779, MHI at 4165 and Wood at 3421.
The content at POWER-GEN also will be full of gas-turbine MRO-related material. The “Gas Turbines: What’s New?” track, for example, will have a session on “Maintenance, Upgrades and Field Experiences” featuring a speaker from Ansaldo Energie Group of Italy.
Various reports on the gas turbine MRO sector come out each year, and yet nearly all put GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (Booth 2401), Wood and ABB (Booth 2433) among the leading players in the sector. And all of those will be at POWER-GEN International.
