Developers of the 870-MW natural gas-fired Oregon Clean Energy Center held an official dedication for the facility this month, the Toledo Blade reported.

The $800 million plant began operations July 1. However, improvement work continues to boost the capacity to over 900 MW.

CME Energy partnered with North America Project Development LLC to construct the plant, which broke ground in April 2014.

The Toledo Blade said CME Energy plans to build another 955-MW plant early next year.
