By Editors of Power Engineering

EDF Renewable Energy announced the sale of a 50 percent ownership interest in the 225-MW Great Western Wind Project in Oklahoma to Alliant Energy Corporation.

EDF will retain the remaining 50 percent ownership stake and continue to provide management services.

Operating near the base of the Oklahoma Panhandle, Great Western Wind consists of 30 V117 and 63 V100 wind turbines from Vestas. The project became operational in December 2016. Energy generated is sold to Google under a long-term power purchase agreement.
