Indian Point Unit 3 has returned to service after a scheduled $100 million refueling, maintenance and inspection outage, Entergy announced.
During the outage, 2,000 workers including 1,000 specialist contractors replaced 270 bolts on a removable liner inside the reactor and confirmed the plates secured by the bolts remained structurally sound.
This is the second-to-last refueling outage for Unit 3 before its scheduled shutdown on April 30, 2021. Entergy purchased Indian Point 15 years ago.
