Flamanville Explosion Repairs to Stretch Through March

By Editors of Power Engineering

Repairs at the Flamanville nuclear plant in France will now stretch through the end of March, plant operator EDF estimated.

The original reactivation date was set at just a week after a fire and explosion knocked out the reactor and injured three people, though EDF now reported work on replacing damaged equipment just began this week, The Guardian reported.

EDF faces repair costs of at least $1.25 million per day, experts estimated.
