PSEG announced commercial operations at its ILR Solar Farm, a 7.75 MW facility covering 21 acres of the closed ILR Landfill in Edison, New Jersey.
The solar facility, which includes 23,834 solar panels, will be operated by PSEG as part of its Solar 4 All program, which constructs solar facilities on landfills and brownfield space. To date, the company has installed 52.5 MW of solar power on 31 such spaces, nine of which are landfills, and the company intends to build another 33 MW of solar power on other brownfields and landfills through 2020.
Vanguard Energy Partners provided engineering, procurement and construction services. Industrial Land Reclaiming Inc. owns the ILR Landfill.
