The ultimate goal of the partnership is to support the development of a 300-MW power generation gas turbine.
The testing will take place at NDTL’s 10-MW compressor test cell, which is under construction for operations this fall. When finished, the laboratory will house one of the largest compressor research facilities at any university in the world.
All design, analysis, fabrication and testing will take place in the laboratory. Notre Dame noted this agreement continues to expand its capabilities in the commercial power industry.
