GE Power Services Extends Gas-Fired Support Agreement in Israel

General Electric (GE, NYSE: GE)’s Power Services business unit signed a multiyear services agreement with Israel Electric Corp. Ltd. (IEC) to support three 9FA gas-fired turbines.

The agreement will cover the 1,449-MW Eshkol Power Station; the 650-MW Tzafit Power Station, which uses a 9FA combined-cycle steam turbine and two 9E gas turbines in simple-cycle mode to provide peaking power; and the 650-MW Tavor Power Station, which includes one 9FA combined-cycle gas turbine with a steam block from Alstom Power.

GE has supplied IEC with gas and steam turbines, as well as equipment and services, since 1950. The new deal follows a previous 13-year multiyear agreement between IEC and GE for the three power stations, and covers parts, repair and technical advisory services for planned outages.
