Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative brought the 410-MW natural gas-fired Alpine Power Plant to full operations in Michigan.
The Alpine Power Plant is a peaking plant that uses two state-of-the-art simple cycle GE (NYSE: GE) Frame 7F.05 combustion turbine generators. The 205 MW Unit 1 was brought to full capacity on June 13. Unit 2 reached full operation the last week of May.
Final commissioning will continue and, once complete, the units will be handed off to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator for routine dispatch.
