The two projects, Alon Tavor and Ramat Gabriel, will be built in northern Israel and are expected to be commissioned in 2018. The projects’ owner and operator is independent power producer RD Energy.
Among other things, Siemens will supply one SGT-800 industrial gas turbine and one SST-300 industrial steam turbine for each project. The turbines will be manufactured in Finspong, Sweden and Brno, Czech Republic.
“The Israeli power plant market offers enormous potential,” said Shmuel Fledel, chief executive officer of Siemens Israel. “This is a good opportunity to establish ourselves in the country as a supplier of turnkey power plant solutions and services.”
