Siemens to Supply Direct-Drive Wind Turbines for Onshore Wind Farm in Japan.

Siemens has received its third wind power order from Japan’s largest wind power developer, Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation. The 41.6-MW Eurus Higashi Yurihara wind power facility in mainland Honshu will receive 13 SWT-3.2-101 direct-drive wind turbines, each rated at 3.2 MW.The order also includes a five-year service and maintenance agreement.

Siemens has installed a total of 200 MW in Japan since 1999, receiving its first orders for direct drive wind turbines in 2013 for the Eurus Akita Port wind farm. The company also supplied the Eurus Yurikogen wind power plant with 17 direct drive wind turbines of the type SWT-3.0-101. Both projects are already in commercial operation.

The Eurus Higashi Yurihara wind farm is scheduled to begin commercial operation in spring 2018.
