Westinghouse Chosen for Outage Services at Watts Bar, Sequoyah Nuclear Plants

Tennessee Valley Authority has chosen Westinghouse Electric Company to provide refueling outage and inspection services for Watts Bar Units 1 and 2 and Sequoyah Units 1 and 2.

Both plants’ pressurized water reactors were designed by Westinghouse.

“This contract builds upon a long working relationship between TVA and Westinghouse,” said Mark Marano, Westinghouse president, Americas Region.  “Most recently, Westinghouse successfully completed initial core fuel load, and currently is assisting in the start-up and testing of Watts Bar Unit 2. We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with TVA for years to come.”

The estimated $75 million contract extends through 2021.
