Operations Begin at 180-MW Ontario Wind Power Project

Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and Pattern Energy Group LP said the 180-MW Armow Wind power plant in Ontario finished construction and is fully operational.

The project used Ontario-made products and provided more than 350 Ontario workers during peak construction. Towers for the 91 Siemens (NYSE: SI) 2.3-MW wind turbines were made in Windsor. The 273 blades were manufactured in Tillsonburg.

The Armow Wind facility operates under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
