ERCOT Names Mele Senior VP and COO

ERCOT Sees Danger to 4,000 MW of Coal Capacity Due to Revised Clean Power Plan

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) named Cheryl Mele the next senior vice president and chief operating officer.
Mele, the current deputy general manager and COO at Sutin Energy, will begin her new role in mid-January. Mele has worked nearly 30 years in the power industry, including positions as an engineer and system programmer with General Electric prior to joining Austin Energy in 1991.
Mele has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York and utility executive certification from the University of Idaho.
