Cypress Creek Renewables Proposes Montana Uitlity-Scale Solar Project

California-based Cypress Creek Renewables has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Montana’s NorthWestern Energy for the sale of electricity generated by a new solar facility.

Planned for up to 40 acres near Helena, the 3-MW Green Meadow project would provide power for up to 540 homes.  The 25-year agreement is NorthWestern’s first to purchase power from a utility-scale solar facility.

Cypress Creek has built or proposed solar projects in a number of states, including New York, North Carolina, Oregon and South Carolina.

Green Meadow is one of 10 projects in Montana being considered by Cypress Creek, which hopes to start and finish construction on the project in 2016.
