Westinghouse, Holtec team on nuclear spent fuel storage technology

Westinghouse Electric, Holtec International team on spent nuclear fuel dry cask storage

Westinghouse Electric Co. and Holtec International signed a 10-year teaming agreement to provide dry cask spent fuel storage technology to U.S. nuclear power plants.

Westinghouse’s experience with dry storage canister welding will pair with Holtec as the original equipment manufacturer service provider. The agreement calls for pool-to-pad services for U.S. nuclear sites.

Westinghouse has welded more than 650 spent fuel canisters since 2002.
