Nuclear power plant land contract signed

UK-based nuclear developer NuGen signed a land contract with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) for the three reactors planned for the Moorside nuclear power plant.
The NuGen Board approved the land contract signing for the three, 1,100-MW Westinghouse AP1000 reactors at the Moorside site, which is near the Sellafield complex. Site characterization will continue at Moorside in the fall.
The new plant is expected to be completed in 2024 with a total generating capacity of 3.4-GW.
