AREVA, Kurion to form nuclear waste management alliance to serve DOE

AREVA and Kurion are creating an alliance for nuclear waste decommissioning and remediation services to serve the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) complex. The joint venture will first work on the cleanup and closure of the DOE’s Hanford site in Washington state.

The goal of the partnership is to provide technology solutions for nuclear waste, particularly to meet the needs of nuclear facilities undergoing decommissioning and cleanup.     

“Through this partnership, we will strengthen our offering in the growing U.S. decommissioning market,” said Gary Mignogna, CEO of AREVA Inc. “The unique combination of our companies’ expertise, knowledge and technology will create innovative and economical solutions to best meet our customers’ needs.”
