I realize this blog is called Nuclear Matters, but today, I am about all power generation sources, specifically when it comes to promoting our Projects of the Year and Woman of the Year awards.
The annual Projects of the Year awards are given to power projects from anywhere in the world that exemplify excellence in the industry. Projects can range in size from from kilowatts to megawatts as long as they began commercial operations between August 1, 2014 and July 31, 2015 to be eligible.
A panel of PennWell editors from Power Engineering, Nuclear Power International, Renewable Energy World, and Hydro Review score each nomination and pick two finalists in four categories: Best Coal, Best Renewable, Best Nuclear and Best Natural Gas.
The Woman of the Year award is for any woman who has been in the power generation industry for at least five years. Peers nominate the woman and must give clear, consice examples of why she is worthy to be nominated. A committee of women in the power generation industry will pick the top three finalists.
Winners will be awarded on Monday, Dec. 7 in Las Vegas during a gala event before the start of POWER-GEN International. Whether you are involved in the awards or not, all are welcome to attend.
