O&M contract extended for waste-to-energy power plant

Covanta Long Beach Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Covanta Holding Corp. (NYSE: CVA) extended an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for a waste-to-energy power plant.
 
The amended agreement extends the term of the current contract from December 8, 2018 to June 30, 2024. Covanta performs O&M on the Southeast Resource Recovery Facility (SERRF), which processes waste leftover from reduction and recycling. Since 1988, SERRF has turned approximately 12,500,000 tons of municipal solid waste into approximately 6 million megawatt hours of electricity.
