Fluor Corp. (NYSE: FLR) was awarded an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning contract by Dominion Virginia Power (NYSE: D) to build its new 1,600-MW Greensville County Power Station, a combined-cycle, natural gas-fired power station in Greensville County, Virginia.

Under terms of the contract, Fluor will design the plant at its engineering office in Charlotte. During peak construction, it is anticipated that about 1,000 craft workers will be onsite.

The one billon dollar project is expected to be completed by 2019.

In 2011, Fluor completed EPC work for Dominion’s 590-MW combined-cycle, natural gas-fired Bear Garden Power Station in Buckingham County, Virginia; and is currently the contractor for the utility’s Brunswick County Power Station, a 1,300-MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired power station in Brunswick County.
