Nuclear power plant automatically shuts down

The Grand Gulf nuclear power plant in Mississippi automatically shut down Saturday.

Plant operator Entergy (NYSE: ETR) said in a report to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that the scram may have been caused by a generator/turbine trip, but the cause is still under investigation. All rods fully inserted and all systems functioned as designed. There was no danger to the public or workers.
