Wärtsilä will supply a 19-MW Smart Power Generation power plant to Montana-Dakota Utilities (MDU) in Sidney, Montana, in the Bakken area.
Under terms of the agreement, Wärtsilä will provide two of its 34SG natural gas engines.
The power plant is scheduled to be fully operational during the fall of 2015.
Most recently, the company signed a contract with Basin Electric Power Cooperative for a 112-MW Smart Power Generation power plant to be installed in Williston, North-Dakota – also in the Bakken area.
