Exelon Generation promotes nuclear execs

Nation's biggest nuclear firm makes a play for green money

Exelon Nuclear (NYSE: EXC) has announced the promotion of Michael Pacilio to executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of Exelon Generation LLC; and Bryan Hanson to senior vice president, Exelon Generation, and president and chief nuclear officer of Exelon Nuclear.

Pacilio served as president and chief nuclear officer since 2010. In his new role, he will oversee the safety, efficiency and reliability of Exelon Generation’s power generation fleet. Pacilio will report to Exelon Generation President and Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth W. Cornew. Pacilio holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Hanson replaces Pacilio, after serveing as COO for Exelon Nuclear. In Hanson’s new role, he will take over operational and organizational responsibility for the company’s fleet of nuclear power stations. Hanson will report to Pacilio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a MBA from St. Ambrose University.
