The Lighthouse Wind farm is a proposed 201-MW project located in the Town of Somerset, Niagara County, New York and the Town of Yates, Orleans County, New York. It would be owned and developed by Apex Clean Energy Holdings. The project’s interconnection request has been submitted for the Kintigh Substation.
The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment requires applicants proposing to construct a major electric generating facility to submit a Public Involvement Program (PIP) plan for review by the Department of Public Service (DPS) at least 150 days prior to filing a Preliminary Scoping Statement (PSS). That plan was filed on Oct. 31.
The principals of Apex Clean Energy, said project documents, have developed over $10bn of operating renewable energy facilities in the United States. These facilities are located throughout the nation, ranging in size from the 20-MW Steel Winds project in New York to the 300-MW Canadian Hills Wind project in Oklahoma.
