Cogeneration power plant in Mexico in the works

ATCO and partner Grupo Hermes S.A. de C.V. were picked to begin project development and the approval process for a planned 638-MW natural gas cogeneration power plant in Mexico.

ATCO would be responsible for half of the $820 million project. Partnership approval is expected in 2015 with a commercial operation date set for the second half of 2017. PMX Cogeneracion S.A.P.I de C.V., an affiliate of state-owned petroleum company Pemex, would operate the plant that is to be located at the Miguel Hidalgo refinery.
