India, Finland to cooperate on civil nuclear energy, spent fuel management

India and Finland signed several agreements, including two for the civil and peaceful use of nuclear energy and the management of nuclear power plant spent fuel.

The arrangement calls for the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India and the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland to ensure cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation having to do with the exchange of information personnel related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and radiation, and nuclear safety including radioactive waste management, safety related issues and research, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
