EPA grants GHG permit for natural gas-fired expansion project in Texas

A greenhouse gas (GHG) Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) construction permit was awarded for a $200 million gas-fired power expansion project in Texas.

The permit allows for Victoria WLE to add equipment and capacity to a combined-cycle generating unit at the plant. The added turbine would result in a combined-cycle unit in a 2x2x1 configuration, with two turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam generator.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has finalized 55 GHG permits in Texas, proposed an additional four permits, and currently has 10 additional GHG permits in development in the state.
