Vermont solar site reaches completion

AllEarth Renewables and Claire Solar Partners have successfully completed a 2.2-MW solar tracker farm in South Burlington, Vermont, making it the largest site in North America to utilize distributed inverters and dual-axis trackers.

Claire Solar utilized 366 AllSun Trackers and multi-crystalline 260-W PID resistant modules from JA Solar. The ground-mounted solar trackers produce up to 30 percent more energy compared to fix ground-mounted systems.

The project was constructed under Vermont’s Sustainably Priced Energy Enterprise Development (SPEED) standard-offer program and will produce more than 3 million kilowatt hours of emissions-free energy annually.

AllEarth Renewables also served as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.
