GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the field of nuclear engineering and technology with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam.
The signing is part of a bigger MOU between the university and GEH to collaborate on enhancing training opportunities and developing a highly qualified human resources in the fields of science and technology. It sets out the provision of work experience opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering programs via internships at GEH facilities to introduce them to the nuclear industry and technologies. Both parties agreed to hold technical lectures and seminars on boiling water reactor technology and other issues.
The first internships are planned for 2015 when approximately 10 Hanoi University students will spent the summer at GE Hitachi’s headquarters in Wilmington, North Carolina.
