Michigan International Speedway sets goal to use 100% renewable sources

Michigan International Speedway (MIS) has set a goal, with the help of Michigan’s largest utility, Consumers Energy, to match 100 percent of its electricity use with renewable energy.

Plans include support for renewable energy and a commitment by MIS to reduce energy usage.

To date, MIS is the largest customer to enroll in Consumers Energy’s Green Generation program. Each month MIS will purchase power from renewable sources, all made in the state.

Consumers Energy and MIS will work together at developing wind, solar and other renewable energy generation at the racetrack.

Consumers Energy is a subsidiary of CMS Energy (NYSE: CMS).
