Texas natural gas-fired power plant awarded GHG permit

Invenergy Thermal Development LLC was awarded a final greenhouse gas (GHG) Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) construction permit for a 165-MW simple-cycle natural gas-fired power plant in Texas.

The company will build two natural gas-fired simple-cycle combustion turbines at the Ector County Energy Center near Odessa. The plant will house a natural gas-fired dew point heater, a fire water pump engine and circuit breakers.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized 51 GHG permits, proposed four and has 11 applications under development in Texas.
