AWEA figures reveal US installed a capacity of 835-MW in the first half of 2014

American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has revealed the US installed a capacity of 835-MW in wind energy during the first half of 2014.  This figure is up from 1.6-MW in the same period of 2013. 

According to the AWEA, the US now supplies 61.96-GW from 46,300 wind turbines.  Texas saw the greatest increase in capacity, with 400-MW installed.  Nebraska and Michigan followed with 201-MW and 136-MW respectively.  In total, the US has 14.6-GW of wind under construction across 106 projects in 21 states.
