Southwest Gas Corp. (NYSE: SWX) announced that its president and chief executive officer (CEO), Jeffrey W. Shaw, will retire as CEO on March 1, 2015. Shaw also stepped down as president on August 1.
John P. Hester will serve as president effective August 1 and will assume the position of CEO, upon Shaw’s retirement.
Hester previously served as executive vice president since 2013, responsible for administration, finance, gas resources, legal, marketing, and regulatory affairs. He also served as the senior vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Energy Resources from 2006 to 2013 and as vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Systems Planning from 2003 to 2006.
He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Northern Illinois University.
Southwest Gas Corp. provides natural gas service to approximately 1.9 million customers in Arizona, Nevada, and California.
