EPA holds public meetings on Clean Power Plan

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold four hearings in two-days on the proposed Clean Power Plan during the week of July 28, 2014. The hearings will be held in Washington D.C., Atlanta, Denver and Pittsburgh.

As part of President Obama’s Clean Power Plan, the EPA said it would cut particulates, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide emissions from power plants by 30 percent by 2030.

When the proposed plan is fully implemented in 2030, carbon emissions will be 30 percent below 2005 levels, according to the EPA.

The comment period is open until October 16, 2014.
