Russia, Brazil to build new nuclear & spent fuel storage

Nuclear reactor in Brazil reconnects to power grid

Rusatom Overseas, a unit of Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Carmargo Correa of Brazil to build an addition spent fuel storage facility and nuclear power plant.

According to the Russia & India Report, the MOU will expand bilateral cooperation in nuclear power, specifically the construction of engineering and technical facilities at the Angra nuclear power plant. The agreement also plans a partnership in the construction of new nuclear units in Brazil.
