Wastewater overflows from Texas water treatment plant

More than a million gallons of untreated wastewater overflowed into Gilleland Creek on Sunday, KXAN reported.

A power outage caused the wastewater to overflow from the City of Pflugerville Wastewater Treatment Facility in Texas.

Residents near the affected area should avoid using water, waste material, or soil unless it has been treated.

The city is working on the cleanup with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
